Architectural and Interior Design services for renovations & FFE specifications to the Casa Blanca Building which was built in 1925 and used as a sorority house. The historic property is located adjacent to the University of Oklahoma and will house the Chickasaw Nation Student Services Center. The project was designed to meet the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for Rehabilitation.
Chickasaw students will use the first floor of the building as a home away from home. To enjoy fellowship, getaway, and experience different cultural activities. The first-floor areas include; lobby and reception area, a student uses area, student lounge, two dining areas, catering kitchen, computer lab, student workers classroom, game room, and cultural learning library. The second floor will house; reception area, administrative offices, break room, storage, and a conference room. The basement area will have a workout room, laundry, storage, and mechanical systems.
Furniture, fixtures & equipment was selected to reflect the Chickasaw Students wants to have a home away from home, equipped with the technology needed for today’s university students. The design allows for full and quiet study areas and the versatility of the space to use the furnishings for independent or group study /cultural activities. The interior design will feature Chickasaw Nation Art & Cultural Items.
