The former Indian Clinic, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has a new lease on life as the Health and Community Services Center. The new use will house many departments including Diabetes, Substance Abuse, Community Health, and others. In addition to offices, the facility has multi-purpose conference rooms, restrooms, and a lobby and information center. Exterior improvements include a new roof, historic window repair, and new sidewalks, railings and an accessible ramp on the rear entrance. The rehabilitation included a significant amount of interior demolition to previous remodel projects and an elevator upgrade. All new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were installed. Energy-efficient systems were employed. A 40 Ton Geothermal HVAC system, and a dimmable lighting system which adjusts its output based on available daylight were included. Historic wall, ceiling, and floor finishes were retained and repaired.
